The Birds of Wake County

Larry Zoller, Educational Outreach Chairperson of Wake Audubon Society will give a presentation on the Birds of Wake County.

Larry has 40 years experience teaching science and environmental education.  He is a diehard birder and can be found in the field on bird walks frequently.  He is the past President of the Wake Audubon Society and the Anne Arundel Bird Club, organizations dedicated to the protection and conservation of bird life and other natural resources.

Forest Management and Wildlife Conservation

Andrew Snyder, Educational State Forest Ranger with the North Carolina Forest Service, will give a presentation covering the following topics:

– An introduction explaining the role and mission of the North Carolina Forest Service (NCFS)

– The role NCFS plays in managing sustainable populations of wildlife in North Carolina

– Forest Management practices such as clear-cutting which has an impact on wildlife and which also may be misunderstood by the general public.
