Please join fellow conservationists and make your voice heard! Let’s restore the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA Fisheries rules that have so successfully brought many endangered wildlife species back from the brink of extinction since the Endangered Species Act was enacted in 1973. These agencies are proposing to restore only some of the wildlife protection rules that were revoked in the last administration.
On this 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, let’s not let this historic wildlife success story itself become endangered. This act has given America back many endangered species we now enjoy seeing in abundance today, including the bald eagle, grizzly bear, whooping crane, California condor, black-footed ferret, and more.
291 species saved by the act
Endangered Species Coalition – 2019
1600 species protected
99% success preventing species extinction
Millions of acres of critical habitat protected
9 of 10 people polled support a strong Endangered Species Act
The threat to our species worldwide is greater than ever with 27 identified as endangered and 17 as threatened in North Carolina alone! In the midst of rapid development and habitat destruction and the effects of global warming, the need to protect the biodiversity of our world couldn’t be greater. If you would like to send a message to support restoring the protections originally afforded by the Endangered Species Act, please send your message, via the Center for Biological Diversity, to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA Fisheries below.
