South Wake Conservationists Partner with NC Native Plant Society at the State Fair

SWC joined the NC Native Plant Society at their permanent garden and booth as part of the annual Flower Show at the 2023 NC State Fair on Oct. 15. This was our eighth public event this year, where SWC engages with booth visitors, shares information about wildlife and habitat conservation, and offers fun activities for the kids. We had a great turnout and an enjoyable time speaking with visitors to our shared booth, and there was a lot of synergy between the SWC and NC Native Plant Society teams. We shared information about native plants, invasive plants, and various ways to get involved with and support the chapter and the NC Wildlife Federation.

Thanks to Jeff Allen for organizing and transporting the supplies and equipment, as well as to Jackie Trickel of the NC Native Plant Society for inviting our participation. Thanks also to John Kinsella, Bob and Regan Brown, and Chad Chandler for working their shifts with Jeff that day.

We have one more public event remaining this year, which is the Good Hope Farm Harvest Fest in Cary on Nov. 18. Come out and see us!
