On October 27, 2023 representatives from the South Wake Conservationists, North Carolina Wildlife Federation and Lake Wheeler Park (located in Raleigh) teamed up to install six Bluebird Boxes at the park! Bluebirds are often observed within the park and they will now have more nesting opportunities. In addition, the Park is in the process of training nest observers who will periodically check on the status of the boxes and clean them when appropriate.
