Fascinating Evening About Wildlife Veterinary Care

Dr. Salina Locke speaking to group

We wrapped up the year with a wonderful guest speaker at Bass Lake Park on Dec. 7 for our December public meeting. Dr. Salina Locke shared stories, photos, and videos of amazing cases her practice has worked over the years with injured and sick wildlife brought in by wildlife rehabilitators and local residents for treatment. There was a great turnout in person of over 20 members and visitors , which is a key goal for us post-Covid, in addition to over 40 remote participants across the state in this simultaneously webcast event. Following the talk, everyone enjoyed casual conversation, refreshments, and a fun raffle. The webcast was recorded and will be made available for viewing on the North Carolina Wildlife Federation YouTube channel.

We will continue to hold these in-person/webcast hybrid events quarterly next year and hope you will join us again next March. We also hold online-only webinars in February, May, August, and November. The next online webinar is scheduled for Feb. 1 at 7 PM and will feature Kris Bass, who will speak about Nature Based Solutions and Environmental Justice. Watch our calendar and postings on the website for upcoming registration details.
