New Composting Sign at Hemlock Bluffs!

The South Wake Conservationists finished off 2023 with a sign installation at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve in Cary. The sign provides details about why composting is beneficial and how people can do it themselves! The sign pairs well with the preserve’s active effort to compost. We encourage folks to check out the new sign and the preserve’s compost setup. Follow the smell! Big thanks to chapter volunteers and park staff who were onsite to help with the installation.

This marks the chapter’s fourth sign installation in 2023 in Southern Wake County. We installed a sign at Yates Mill Historic Park (Native Plants), Crowder Community Park (Migratory Birds), Swift Creek Bluffs Nature Preserve (Invasive Species) and Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve (Composting). Special thanks to the Jandy Ammons Foundation who made it all possible! The signs will serve as educational tools for the public to enjoy while simultaneously promoting the chapter. Stay tuned for more signs in 2024!
