New Invasive Species Sign at Swift Creek Bluffs!

The South Wake Conservationists broke ground and installed a brand new educational sign at Swift Creek Bluffs Nature Preserve in Raleigh. The preserve is managed by the Triangle Land Conservancy and provides critical space for neck-craning beech trees, showstopping wildflowers and an abundance of native wildlife. One step to protect the preserve’s natural wonders involves educating visitors about the danger of invasive species. The sign provides answers to frequent questions…. what is an invasive species? How do they get to a new place? How can you help? We hope that folks will stop by the preserve and check out the new sign (hopefully it’s still level)!

Big thanks to Patrick Boleman who serves as TLC’s Land Stewardship Manager (East). The chapter is in the process of planning conservation workdays at Swift Creek Bluffs in partnership with the Triangle Land Conservancy. Keep on the lookout as those volunteers opportunities are announced in 2024!
