Special Event for South Wake Conservationists

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham is offering a very special, behind-the-scenes tour of the animal care at the museum exclusively for South Wake Conservationists! This incredible opportunity is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of twenty people. It is scheduled for Sat., Aug. 24, 2:00-3:30 PM at the museum.
This Museum is part of a nationwide program of zoos and nature centers working to rebuild the red wolf species. Since 1993, 23 Red Wolf pups have been born there. Each pup adds to the genetic diversity of the species. In addition to the red wolves, they also care for ring-tailed lemurs, radiated tortoises, and a variety of native animal species, including black bears. Learn about how natural-appearing habitats are designed, nutrition, enrichment, reproduction, and many other facets of their habits and care.
