SWC Eco Kids
Cancelled – rescheduling in Spring
Due to holiday schedule conflicts, this event is cancelled and will be scheduled again in the spring. Please watch our posts and calendar for the re-scheduled event, plus other activities and events throughout the year.
At a time when it appears that we are surrounded by invasive plants, kids have an excellent opportunity to learn and do something about it with this hands-on SWC Eco Kids program! Please join us on Monday, Nov. 11, at Crowder County Park in Apex, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, accompanied by your school-age sons and/or daughters, as we send those unwanted plants to that great big garden in the sky! The primary “invaders” on our list are Japanese Stilt Grass and English Ivy, each of which are easily removed. Kids will learn about the need to control invasive plants that displace native plants and the critical role native plants have for wildlife.
Please register below. Everyone is welcome to participate, but all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during this event. We will meet at the parking lot directly across the street from the park office. Tools will be provided, but please bring water and gloves. Looking forward to seeing you!
Note to SWC Volunteers: If you would like to assist with this event, please also register below and just note “Volunteer” in the Other Details box.
