SWC is on the move to try to stay ahead of the bluebirds, as they seek shelter for nesting and raising their young this spring. On March 27th, five bluebird house assemblies were installed at Wake County’s newest park, Beech Bluff County Park. Park Asst. Mgr. Julia Embrey and Park Tech. Joanna Leeder helped locate the perfect spots on park grounds. Then, on March 28th, two additional bluebird house assemblies were installed on the grounds of Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Raleigh. Resident Cornelius Swart (95), a retired school principal and nature enthusiast, participated in the installation activity and looks forward to seeing bluebirds take up residence there soon. Birds are a delight for people of all ages!
