South Wake Conservationists

SWC engages and educates the local community about wildlife and habitat on a regular basis. This is a key part of our mission!  One of the ways we do that is to have exhibits at selected public events. This is a great volunteer opportunity to help spread the word about wildlife and habitat conservation. No specialized knowledge required – we have the displays, materials, and activities pre-packaged and operate as a team!

Earth Day and Arbor Day is a popular annual event put on by the City of Raleigh in partnership with our friends at We Plant it Forward. This event hosts a variety of earth-conscious vendors and organizations while also offering live music, games, and activities for all ages. At last year’ event (2024), SWC was honored to receive the City of Raleigh’s Environmental Award for Education.
