A Good Day at Mud Day

SWC volunteers enjoyed being part of the City of Raleigh’s annual Mud Day at Walnut Creek Wetlands Center again this year. Always a fun event, when the kids (and even some parents) arrived at our exhibit, many were proudly covered in good ‘ol North Carolina red-clay mud! Keeping with the wetland theme, we had a focus on frogs and beavers this time, including a cool beaver environment diorama, animal track castings, a frog facts board, frog sound buttons, homemade frog-sound simulation devices, and a frog lifecycle display. The adults got to try their hand at the popular nature Q&A board and visit our display about the importance of biodiversity.

Many thanks to our volunteer staff that day, led by Jeff, including Jess, Bob, Regan, Jeremy, and Dave!
