It’s Groundhog Day (again!) and We Need Volunteers

Garner Mayor and a groundhog

We kick off our 2026 season of community engagement on Feb. 2nd in Garner at the annual Groundhog Day celebration, which is always a lot of fun. SWC plans to exhibit at six different community events and festivals this year, which is a great way for us to engage people of all ages in a fun way and get the wildlife conservation message out.

We need help setting up our exhibit, running kids activities, talking with people interested in an informational display on habitat and other exhibit materials, sharing seed packets and literature, and packing up at the end. All activities and displays are already prepared and ready ahead of time, so we just need people to be part of our onsite team.
