Let’s Help with Wake County’s Big Sweep

  • Date: Fri., Feb. 27
  • Time: 2-4 PM
  • Place: Siemens Todd Farm, Wendell, NC

Big Sweep of Wake County has invited South Wake Conservationists to assist them in a clean-up for Friday, February 27 at a farm in Wendell, NC. We’ve collaborated  with Big Sweep in past events with great success and we’re looking forward to helping them on this one.

Wake County Big Sweep is a citizen volunteer effort to protect our watersheds, water quality, and make our environment litter-free. Litter causes severe, often fatal, impacts on wildlife through entanglement, ingestion, and habitat destruction. Since 2006, Big Sweep volunteers have removed over half-a-million pounds of trash, recycling over 30% of that.

For every twenty-five pounds of trash collected, NC Wildlife Federation will provide one tree or ten native plants through their Clean and Green Program.

All supplies and logistics are provided for this event. Please register and sign the electronic waiver below. A separate email with full event details—including location, what to bring, and other logistics—will be sent a couple of days before the event to all registrants.
