Upper Little River Watershed Roadway Litter Sweep

Upper Little River

As part of NCDOT’s Spring Litter Sweep, on Saturday, April 17, 2021, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, SWC will be protecting the Cape Fear River by collecting trash along Titan Roberts Rd. and Ross Rd. in Harnett Co. which are crossing the Upper Little River watershed flowing in the Cape Fear River. We’ll be cleaning about a half mile on each road. We’ll be meeting at Guy and Judy Gardner’s house (4503 Ross Road, Lillington, 27546) at 9:30 am to get organized, then drive (carpool if COVID allows) about one mile down to where we’ll begin the clean up.  We’ll split into two teams, one on Ross Rd. and the other on Titan Roberts Road.  Trash pickers and a few safety vests will be provided.  Bring your own safety vest if you have one or wear a brightly colored shirt.  Volunteers are encouraged to wear waterproof boots/shoes because the roadway can be wet.  After we’ve finished sweeping the roadway, we’ll return to the Gardner’s property on the Cape Fear River behind their house and have a picnic lunch.  Please bring your own lunch for the picnic.  Everyone is invited to explore or wander along the river area if they would like. Please complete the form below to RSVP for this event.
