Please join the South Wake Conservationists (SWC) on Sunday morning, May 2, 2021 for a bird-watching tour of the North Carolina Museum of Art Park. The Park is located at 2110 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh. The tour will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and we will meet at the Ellipse. The Ellipse is located close to the Park’s large parking lot parallel to Blue Ridge Road. We recommend that you park in the south end of the lot, closer to the large chimney tower.
SWC member Chantal Taunton will be giving the tour. Chantal is a Park Ranger with the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and is a member of the North Carolina Museum of Art Park Police. She gives monthly bird tours to Museum visitors and has accumulated an awesome array of knowledge regarding our feathered friends, and, specifically, the Park’s birdlife!
During the tour, we will walk on grass, paved trails and around a pond for better views. Chantal will answer questions as we walk. Please bring binoculars, water, masks and closed-toe shoes. Cameras are also recommended.
If you have any questions regarding the tour you can contact Chantal at: Chantal.Taunton@ncparks.gov (919-664-6916) or John Kinsella at Jkinsella@nc.rr.com.
