The Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail and the North Carolina Wildlife Federation are returning to a section of trail in need of another litter sweep. This is part of an ongoing effort to restore an area where heaping piles of garbage are abundant. Ellerbe Creek is part of the Neuse River Basin and flows more than 20 miles through North Durham until eventually spilling into Falls Lake. We will focus our effort where Ellerbe Creek meets Falls Lake. Volunteers will split up into teams and tackle areas rich in debris. The majority of the cleanup effort will take place in the woods where volunteers can enjoy the serenity of nature and the satisfaction of giving back to the trail and the surrounding ecosystem. Note that this is nearby but a different meeting location than where we met in January. A map with the exact meeting location will be provided in the confirmation email after registering.

  1. I just tried to register for the Ellerbe Creek cleanup, but couldn’t get the # of people box to get off of 0. Then I couldn’t do Next. Tried on my phone. Will try again later on my desktop. Bob Brown
