Calling All Volunteers for Kids in Nature Day – May 6

Saturday, May 6, 1:00-4:00 PM*

Lake Benson Park

Garner, NC

*Rain date May 7

We have 40 volunteer roles to fill for this premier, annual Eco Kids event. Can you help?

This is our second annual Kids in Nature Day, connecting kids with nature through fun, interactive, and hands-on activities. By encouraging the next generation to embrace the natural world, this event is meant to inspire and empower kids to make a difference for wildlife and their habitat.

Attended by more than 160 area children and parents last year (click here for highlights), Kids in Nature Day 2023 promises to be even bigger and better this year, anticipating over 250 kids! There will be 20 different activity centers, including live animals, pond exploration, nature crafts, scavenger hunts, and much more! Ranger Rick will be there to greet the kids, there will be fanciful music, and fresh-cooked food will be available onsite.

Last year’s attendees responded to a post-event poll with 100% saying they would like to come back the next year! “My kids LOVED spending the afternoon there, they had so much fun, I honestly thought we’d be in/out relatively quickly, but we arrived right at opening and left (at close of the event) at 4:30.”

We understand that not everyone is available to volunteer that day in person. If you would like to still support Kids in Nature Day and the Eco Kids Program, please click on the Donate button below (designate Eco Kids).

Thank you for your support!
