Our next workday for the Nature Trail Project at West Lake Elementary School in Apex will be on Sunday Nov 17th. Courtney Rousseau, project lead, invites volunteers to come at 1:30 PM for orientation and to begin work that afternoon, which should last until approximately 3:30 PM. We will be sawing and clearing out trimmed tree branches, doing some minor trimming near the trail outdoor classroom, adding more landscape timbers and spikes, removing old sign parts from 22 old signs, relocating several signposts, and installing two new birdhouses on poles.
One special project in parallel is re-setting the stone steps in concrete and mortar to make them more secure and safe. We need one more volunteer to assist the sub-team for that task. If you would like to help with that one, please plan to arrive one hour earlier at 12:30 PM ( and note in the registration comments that you would like to work on that one specifically.
Please bring your own work gloves, water, shovels, and pruners.
