Help celebrate National Pollinator Week a little early at this long-running annual pollinator festival at Lake Crabtree County Park! A key part of the SWC mission is to get the wildlife and habitat conservation message out to the community, and this is a perfect opportunity to do just that.
As always with our exhibits, all activities and supplies are pre-planned and ready to go, so we just need volunteers to help set up and welcome our visitors and guide kids activities during the event. Second shift will help pack things up at the end, which usually goes quickly.
This will be the first year that SWC is exhibiting at this event. It is especially important for us to show our support for this park, as they have been directed by the FAA through the RDU Airport Authority to redevelop 136 acres of the park for commercial purposes, leaving appoximately 70 acres for the public park. Lake Crabtree County Park is one of the most visited parks in the Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space system.
If you can help, please sign up below. Please indicate which shift(s) you are signing up for in the “Other Details” box. Thanks!
