SWC participating in Spring Litter Sweep

Man picking up roadway litter.

South Wake Conservationists’ chapter members will take part in NCDOT’s Spring Litter Sweep on Sunday April 11 from 9 am to 12 pm.  At 9 am we’ll meet at the Fleming Loop Recreational Park, 501 Fleming Loop, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526, a short distance from where we’ll be picking up trash along NC 42 / W. Academy St.  We expect to cover a distance of about 1 ½ miles from the F-V town limits to the Wake / Harnett County line.

NCDOT will be providing cleanup supplies, such as trash bags, gloves and a few orange safety vests.  We must follow NCDOT’s Safety Rules and Guidelines for Volunteers which will be provided before the event to all who have registered.  This is another opportunity to restore our natural environment, while earning the purchase of native trees to plant later through the NCWF Trees-4-Trash Program (25 lbs. of trash earns another tree for planting later).  Volunteers should also bring their own mask and be prepared for social distancing during the activity. Bring a lunch because after the trash pickup we will be gathering for a picnic at the Park. Please complete the required information below to signup or request further information:
