SWC Hosts an Interactive Exhibit at the Marbles Kids Museum

Kids at exhibit table

SWC was honored to be invited to create and host an interactive exhibit about kids and nature at the Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh on Saturday, June 13. We were joined in this special event by NC State Parks, Piedmont Wildlife Center, and Triangle Rock Climbing. By all accounts, the event was a great success, and the kids enjoyed interacting in a fun way with a variety of items found in nature! We also had the opportunity to speak with parents about NCWF and the many benefits of getting kids outside and involved in nature. The exhibit was designed by our own Katie Thompson and assisted by her daughter Scarlett, Chad Chandler, and Monty Morée.

SWC is committed to expanding our focus on families and bringing kids and nature together. Please watch on our website (and don’t forget to subscribe!) for future events for the whole family, such as upcoming nature hikes and special activities kids will enjoy in the great outdoors!

  1. This event looks like it would be fun for any age kid. Does this “Nature feely “exhibit belong to the Chapter? I’d like more information on the various stations shown and the items included? I like this concept. One parent seems well engrossed in the first activity. Good interaction opportunity with the community.
