On June 19,2021 the North Carolina Wildlife Federation (including 4 members of the South Wake Conservationists) teamed up with the Great Raleigh Cleanup Group and local resident Gus Vandermeeren to collect over 900 pounds of trash near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh! Approximately 30 volunteers participated in this highly successful initiative!

I see another outstanding day on the rails. I’d heard about all the training and preparation
that went into a T4T off road outing and now I see why. To collect over 900 pounds of litter items should at least cause a spike in the data graph or perhaps tie a daily record. Some chapter members were moved by what and how much might be discovered and recovered. Were any flattened coins found or made?
Please consider waiting off the tracks for the next train, especially if you have a lot of baggage with you and the location isn’t a real whistle stop. You folks are valuable and never cease to amaze with your level of dedication and enthusiasm.
