Webinar Oct. 14 – Ecological Forestry

Forest in Smoky Mountains

Join South Wake Conservationists on Thurs., Oct. 14, 7:00-8:30 PM, as we welcome Andy Tait, Forestry Director at EcoForesters, a non-profit professional forestry organization dedicated to conserving and restoring our Appalachian forests through education and stewardship. He will explain how ecological forestry is implemented based on four principles: mimic natural processes; increase structural complexity; improve biological diversity; and retain some large high-quality trees.  He will also explore how to steward forests for all their natural benefits: water quality, soil conservation, wildlife habitat, carbon sequestration, recreation, aesthetics, biodiversity, and timber production.

Please be sure to register for this event here, and we look forward to seeing you on the call!
