South Wake Conservationists guided a nature discovery hike through beautiful Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve today. Looking up, down, and all around on the leaf-covered trails, these kids found many of the items listed on their discovery cards and more. These included the iconic hemlock tree growing on the north side of the famous bluffs, as well as various creatures under logs, signs of previous forest burns, amazing fungi, wild ginger, and more! Ranging in age from 3 to 10, everyone had fun in nature on this absolutely beautiful fall day.
As we continue to grow our Eco Kids program, we look forward to seeing many of these families, as well as others in the community, in our upcoming events. Watch our calendar!
