Eco Kids: Winter Discovery Hike for Animal Signs

Animal tracks in the sand

Join us as we explore the winter in the woods, Sat., Jan. 28, 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon at Harris Energy & Environmental Center in New Hill, NC.  We’ll learn how to identify some animal tracks and then enjoy a mile-long hike as we seek evidence of animals that live in the forest. Follow the trail along a creek to find any tracks that were left overnight and see if you can match it to our pocket guides. Scat – what’s that? Who has been disturbing the leaf litter over there? Is there someone home in that tree hollow? Use your eyes and ears to detect the many animals that leave clues behind!

This is part of our regular Eco Kids series, and all kids and their families are welcome to join us. Be sure to register below to hold your spot.

We are pleased to have you join us! South Wake Conservationists and the NC Wildlife Federation are able to support conservation activities and programs like this at no cost, thanks to the partnership and kind investments of people like you. If you would like to offer your support, please click here.  Be sure to designate South Wake Conservationists as your chapter for this event. Thank you!
