Join us for a Pollinator Garden Clean‑Up at Yates Mill County Park!

The SWC Gardens & Wildlife Habitats Committee is hosting a garden maintenance event at the native pollinator garden at Yates Mill County Park. We’ll be working in two volunteer shifts—choose the one that fits your comfort level.

Shift 1: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – For volunteers experienced or willing to help pull out poison ivy and thorny bramble. Long sleeves and long pants are strongly recommended.

Shift 2: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – General garden maintenance: weeding, thinning, and tidying. You may encounter poison ivy; we can help you identify it.

What to Bring

This is a full‑sun garden, so please come prepared:

  • Hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water
  • Gardening gloves and tools if you have them (we’ll have some on hand)
  • Comfortable outdoor clothing
  • Protective gloves will be available should you want them

Use the registration form below to sign up and indicate your preferred shift in the Other Details field. If possible, print and complete Wake County’s Volunteer form ahead of the event, we will also have forms available to complete when you arrive.

We look forward to working together to care for this beautiful pollinator garden and support the wildlife that depends on it.
