What a great day to celebrate pollinators at the annual Pollinator Festival at Lake Crabtree County Park on Saturday! Being under the shade of mature trees, it was quite pleasant on an otherwise warm day. This event leads us right into National Pollinator Week, which starts June 22.
We enjoyed welcoming a lot of visitors of all ages throughout this half-day event, where we continued with our wildlife habitat theme, but with a particular focus on pollinators on that day. Kids had fun matching pollinators with their preferred plants, finding pollinators in a puzzle-like board, and making custom pollinator fans to take home with them.
Thanks to Jennifer, Jeremy, Paul, Dave, and Cissy for making it all go smoothly. Come help at our next public event, which will be Mud Day at Walnut Creek Wetland Center on Aug. 15th. We always have fun working the booth together and sharing our wildlife conservation message with everyone!
