Please join us for stilt grass & liriope removal on August 8th at Annie Jones Greenway, Cary NC 8:00am to 12:30pm with the newly formed organization The Invasive Plant Removal Coalition of Cary. They are inviting other local conservation groups to kick off this important work, expect some good fellowship with other like-minded individuals. They will be providing water and snacks.
They’ve chosen to kick off their first invasive removal at Annie Jones Greenway, the first trail of its kind in Cary, NC. We will park at or near the intersection of the greenway, where the rock sculpture, Properties of Light, is located.
These grasses are either flowering or beginning to seed so it’s a critical time to remove them. Fortunately, removing these grasses doesn’t require shears, but it might be wise to bring a trowel type tool and gloves. As always when removing invasives, it is recommended to wear long sleeves and pants. Looking forward to seeing you there!
