Now that the school year is almost upon us, we are working to keep this wonderful rooftop garden in shape! It’s time to follow up our earlier summer weedings:)
There are sixteen beds in the center of the roof area, which is where the students raised their crops and pollinator plants this spring, and they are in very good shape. The students will continue working in these beds when they return later this month.
Then there are an additional sixteen tall beds on an outer perimeter which are fully dedicated to pollinators. Between the drought and the resiliance of invasive grasses and other plants, the pollinator plants have had a rough summer. This is where we need your assistance!
Can you help? It is fun (and quite safe) up on the roof. This is a very popular program and very meaningful to the students and administration at this school. Just bring your personal water bottle and a pair of gardening gloves, and we’ll supply the rest. Hope you can join us!
