Postponed >>> Oct. 9 Educational Hike – TLC’s Williamson Nature Preserve

*** This hike is postponed. Future date TBA. ***

Join us for a special hike and tour of the Triangle Land Conservancy’s (TLC) Williamson Nature Preserve on Sat., Oct. 9, 2:00-4:30 PM. This 405 acre property was in the same family and farmed for over 200 years and became TLC’s newest nature preserve in 2020. In addition to the two-thirds forested land and popular hiking and biking trails connected to the MST, this preserve also supports a variety of small-scale, local food and regenerative agriculture operations. One of the operations there, Project Pando, is developing an all-volunteer native tree nursery to promote and give native trees to the public, led by Leaf and Limb founder Basil Camu, who was just presented the Business Conservationist of the Year Award at the 2021 Governor’s Conservation Awards banquet. Patrick Boleman, TLC Land Manager East, will accompany us to provide insight to the natural history of the property and the innovative regenerative operations hosted there. The hike will be approx. 4 miles., with multiple stops along the way.

The Williamson Nature Preserve is located in eastern Wake County at 4409 Mial Plantation Road, Raleigh, NC. Please park in the designated parking lot, then walk to the white barn, where we will gather before heading down the trails. We would appreciate your RSVP below, so we know how many to expect.
