Deer Program Delivers to Families in Need in Holly Springs

Delivered box of venison on scale

South Wake Conservationists’ Deer Program completed its last delivery of ground venison today, delivering enough meat to serve more than 11,000 meals this year alone. Working with the Holly Springs Food Cupboard and other local food pantries, lean meat is delivered to families that need it most. Heart-healthy and very tasty, this meat is in high demand by pantry patrons, reports Diane, a volunteer at the Holly Springs Food Cupboard.  It’s great to not only be able to serve our conservation goals, but to feed the hungry as a result!

This project is made possible through the collaboration of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation Deer Program, NC Hunters for the Hungry, Inc., and community support, including a community grant awarded to this program by the Town of Holly Springs. Thanks for helping us to make a difference in community food needs and wildlife population sustainability!!
