Enjoyable Yates Mill Nature Walk!

On December 12, 2021 the South Wake Conservationists sponsored a 3+ mile nature walk at beautiful Yates Mill County Park in Raleigh, NC. Fifteen nature enthusiasts enjoyed great weather, enjoyable companionship and wildlife which included deer, a snake, a flock of Ruddy Ducks, Hooded Mergansers and a group of very vocal Red-shouldered Hawks!

South Wake Conservationists (SWC) Team Up With Umstead State Park Officials!

Representatives from SWC, North Carolina Wildlife Federation and Umstead State Park planted 18 water-loving Button Bushes today in the Park’s bog. Button Bushes create beautiful pollinator-attracting blooms but need a “swampy” environment to bloom. The group also distributed Swamp Milkweed seeds in the bog!
